For a private-improvement mechanic’s lien in Rochester, CPLR 8021(b)(4) sets a statutory base filing fee of $15 in counties outside New York City. Confirm the total currently charged, payment method, and any separate affidavit-of-service or processing charges with the Monroe County Clerk before submitting papers.
The clerk’s filing fee does not include legal preparation, service, title research, or foreclosure expenses. Acceptance for filing does not establish that a lien is valid or that service and proof-of-service requirements have been met.
